THE FAITH OF SERVING
Liturgical Objects in the Modern

Opening of the exhibition December 10th, 4 pm.
Official words by Detlef Gürth, president of the state parlament of Saxony-Anhalt.
Words to the exhibition by Prof. Dr. Andreas Kühne, Munich.

The exhibition includes the presentation of carefully selected, artistically significant objects within its capabilities, the relationship between art, religion and liturgy. It gives appropriate attention meaning to the complex relationships between religion, artistic mainstream and the personal style of individual artists.
Chronologically, the exhibition begins with selected objects, mostly from central Germany, in the Art Nouveau period and ends with sacred instruments of the 21st Century. A large number of exhibits were created by a group of teachers and students of the School of Art Giebichenstein in Halle (Saale).

The presentation of this exhibition is possible only by the support of the Catholic Church of Saxony-Anhalt and the Evangelical Church of Saxony-Anhalt who helped by high inventories of ecclesiastical knowledge, research and lending of the objects.

There is a catalogue for the exhibition and an extensive programm by accompanying events at the Kunstverein.
